Wood in the interior. Two-room design in Yekaterinburg 105 m²
The owners of this 105 m² apartment in Yekaterinburg, people with a good view and developed taste, turned to the Mossebo studio with a wish to create a modern interior, which would have a lot of wood. Having fulfilled the wishes of the customers, we really used a lot of wood in the interior, but we did it so subtly and filigree that there is absolutely no feeling of excess.
For many, wood is associated primarily with floor and furniture, but we wanted to break the usual stereotypes and go beyond standard solutions, so we used it in large quantities on the walls and ceiling, thus creating smooth transitions of the same material in different shades on the floor , wall and ceiling.
Although paint and wallpaper looks much more familiar in a city apartment, it is wood that can completely transform it into a full-fledged “home”. Wood finishing creates in the apartment that indescribable feeling of warmth and comfort that no other material can convey. By covering the wall with wood panels, we get an original, textured and warm accent.
We decided to decorate one of the walls of the apartment in a very unusual way, hanging empty wooden frames tightly around the entire perimeter of the wall. They look ultra-modern, but at the same time unobtrusive: matching in tone with the color of the wall, they delicately decorate it due to their texture.
The owners wanted to make their apartment as spacious and airy as possible in accordance with the loft style. An even larger loft is accessed by high mansard ceilings, preserved old beams, exposed wiring and metal staircases. The abundance of dark wood – a favorite technique of the contemporary style – helps to “comb” the brutal loft and to refine it.
