Project of a duplex apartment in a Scandinavian loft. Double bed 67 sq m

The design of an apartment of the old fund in the historical center of St. Petersburg was developed strictly according to the wishes of the client. The customer of the project is an avid traveler, not indifferent to Scandinavian interiors and loft style; he wanted to remake his “old lady” into comfortable and modern housing, while retaining the stucco decoration on the walls and ceiling. This is how the interior style was born – a free mix of Scandinavian style and a loft with classic elements. The main need of the owner is to turn a one-level apartment into a two-level one and move the bedroom to the second floor. The ceilings with a height of 3.5 meters allowed it.

Black hallway

The customer also loves black, but did not want to give the whole room to this color, and we painted only the hallway black, thanks to which we solved several key problems. First, the space was zoned in an original way. Secondly, they hid the doors to the dressing room and pantry. In black, the room looks mysterious, and in combination with stucco molding – also noble. In addition, for a hallway that is highly prone to dirt, it is a life-saving and practical color. Excessive gloominess was neutralized with the help of light tiles on the floor.

Living room in Scandinavian style

In the living room, the shadows recede sharply, and the interior is filled with Scandinavian white colors – with a slight undertone. As if suddenly, you find yourself in another room without opening a single door. The space is assembled from bold accessories and warm wood. The individual character of the room given by the details – a partition made of yellow rotating slats, friendly side by side with strict moldings on the wall, a loft spider chandelier growing out of a plaster-molded medallion.

Yellow mini-cabinet

A Scandinavian interior is rarely complete without a cheerful yellow accent, which in Scandinavian countries opposes the grayness of the street, insulating the room from the inside. The designer corrected this omission with one bold stroke by painting the mini-cabinet in contrasting black and yellow colors. Sunny walls invigorate no worse than strong coffee, it is a pity that yellow rarely chosen for office decoration.

Bedroom on the second floor

The overall look of the bedroom defined by metal partitions with nets, referring to industrial aesthetic, pot-bellied loft lamps made of transparent glass and a floor mattress instead of a tall bed. The latter had to be abandoned, and this did not bother the owner of the apartment at all – it was still warm and high.

Blue bathroom

The dominant color of the bathroom is a cobalt blue shade surrounded by an achromatic range. Black and white areas tiled as large hexagons with gold grout. The interior completed by an unusual crystal chandelier that at the same time maintains the loft aesthetics of the entire apartment and rhymes with the angular shape of the tiles.
