Duplex apartment. Eclectic Studio 21 sq m

A client from St. Petersburg contacted Mossebo. He bought his daughter an apartment in the city center. This is a former communal apartment with high ceilings converted into a studio, cut into small rooms. Mossebo designers decided to make the most of the space and made the second floor in an ordinary communal apartment, which was originally conceived as a one-story apartment. High ceilings have served well. A sleeping place appeared on the additional floor.

The narrow windows to the floor (one of which also serves as an exit to the balcony), the designers painted, but otherwise they left everything in its original form. Windows have become a highlight of the interior: they optically increase the space and let in more sunlight into the apartment. And a beautiful view of the river opens from them.

The closet, in the girl’s room, deserves special attention. Designers chose the built-in wardrobe as a more spacious and at the same time compact option. It is ideal for storing various trifles (makeup, magazines), overall things (skis, a bicycle) and a large women’s wardrobe fits perfectly in it. The built-in closet masks the proportions of the room very well. You will never guess how deep it is until you open the door. And the building has kept clean the lines of a minimalistic interior.

The viscous emerald, velvet yellow, dusty pink and languid burgundy plunged the small room into an atmosphere of infinite warmth and comfort. Thick deep colors soothe and pacify. Moreover, the apartment does not seem smaller due to the abundance of the dark palette, easily fixing large windows and good artificial lighting.

The matte surfaces of the kitchen apron are “splashed” with gold decor. The glitter of golden abstraction is repeated in the wire shape of a deer head. The designer wanted to emphasize the aristocracy of the interior. (Remember the stuffed animals on the walls in expensive interiors?) But in front of us is a rethought version of such a “stuffed animal” – eco-friendly, modern and stylish.

Speaking of animals. At the entrance, the owner of the apartment is greeted by a friendly dog, it can hold a hat. You can see on the wall paintings from the film “Amelie” – “Goose with Pearls” and “Filmhound”. Artist, Michael Sova, painted them specifically for this film. Animals here look just like people, just as serious and businesslike. A little irony makes the interior lighter and thinner. When asked, why the paintings from the Amelie movie were chosen, the designer replies: “The association worked. The girl’s apartment in St. Petersburg may look like Ameli’s apartment in Paris. ”

Let’s move to the bathroom. Here, too, eclecticism in all its glory. Wall lights sending us back to the 1920s, the jazz era, and the movie “The Great Gatsby”, but modern green floral prints bring us back, a deep emerald color stretching out from the room into the bathroom.
