Design of an apartment of 55 m². Two-piece for a young couple in St. Petersburg

New conceptual interior by Mossebo designers in the contemporary style with Scandinavian elements and a loft for a young couple. One-bedroom apartment with an area of 55 m² is located in the comfort-class residential complex “Lights of the Bay” in the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg. The clients wanted to create a modern interior, woven in shades of beige, chocolate and gray, intimate and functional.

Corridor in modern style

In a small hallway, the designers have equipped an impressive storage system – a built-in wardrobe about 2 meters long, which provides compartments for seasonal outerwear and an utility compartment. Light colors look good in a small room, where sunlight would not reach. For the walls, they chose the color of dusty rose, and for the furniture – milky white, expanding the space and reflecting light.

Living room-kitchen. Interior with blue accents

The main decorative accent of the living room is the golden map of the world on the wall, with which the golden lamps rhyme, the fittings on the kitchen cabinets and the caps on the legs of the chairs. Modern rational design coexists with loft-style elements – a coffee table and a wall clock.  The designers paid a lot of attention to natural tactile materials – this is, first of all, a laminate with a clearly visible texture of dark wood and slatted panels that highlight the study and the music corner.

The clients wanted to dilute the gray-brown and beige palette with a blue accent.  The preference was given not to a simple blue, but to a complex deep shade that gets along well with the main range. The greatest concentration of blue is found in kitchen furniture, color support is provided by textiles – a large-knit blanket and a pillow, upholstery on a work chair.

Gray-brown bedroom

By using a neutral gray-chocolate color scheme, there was a risk of creating a dull and expressionless room. To avoid this, we relied on textures – we wove an extra-glossy metallic shine of lamps with a matte “suede” front of the cabinets in a single space and added a portal to the world of paints on the wall – a picture with abstraction.

Bathroom and toilet. Wood effect tiles in the bathroom

The bathroom and the lavatory are designed in the gray-brown tones that are so beloved by the owners. The main visual dominants of these spaces are accent walls lined with tiles with a natural wood texture, which visually warms the interior.
